The Journey
Intrinsic Light Birth Photography embodies the fragility and pureness of these times. It is always first and foremost a safe space where our clients' desires are respected. You will have an archive of precious memories, and you will also have an extra birth support person present during your labour if you desire, this sacred moment is lead by you.
I like to initiate the interaction with my clients through an in person meeting either in your home (if you plan to home-birth), or locally at a cafe, this allows us to get to know each other and subside any pre nerves you or your partner may be feeling. It also allows me to help you with your goals, provide educational platforms where I can & most importantly determine the lighting that i'll be working with through your labour. Its here we can discuss what your wanting from my service and determine if there are any limitations that might be impacting your ideal birth experience. I will be taking only 1 birth client a month to ensure I can give my attention to each mother as they are nearing their due date and personally soak as much of my own beautiful son as I can also. You will have me on call 24/7 the 2 weeks before your due date and until your baby is born. We will also be in contact, so if you are to go into labour earlier I will do my best to be there as planned anyway. If you are having a scheduled caesarean section, I will be at the hospital in the hour or two before your scheduled time so we can capture the preparations and excitement of whats about to unravel. I try to get clearance from the obstetrician to attend theatre before the day but if the theatre team decide on the day that they would prefer not to have a photographer in theatre, I hand my camera over to a staff member (with settings correct for theatre lighting) and allow them to shoot the birth. Following, I would resume photographing as soon as you leave theatre. I then edit all the content ready for you to enjoy. I want to make note of the fact that every image you entrust me to take on the day is seen by no one else, and by no means will I post any of the pictures without approaching you for consent first. It is to me a privilege to be invited into such a special space.
How it Works
Step 01
Connecting with Expectant Parents
Expectant parents are invited to connect and get comfortable with the photographer, creating a safe and trusting environment for the birth journey ahead. We will discuss your expectations and desires for the big moment, as well as explore the additional packages I have available for my birthing clients. I see these opportunities as rapport building and hope that having a consistent photographer can ease some of the nerves associated with participating in these experiences.
Step 02
Deciding whether to go ahead or not
Following our first meeting, if you decide you want to move forward ill ask for the initial down payment of 25% to ensure your experience. You will then have the duration of your pregnancy to finalise the remaining amount (Birth package). If you decided to add any additional packages I will ask for full payment before the realise of your photos.
Step 03
Preparing for the birth
Once the deposit is received, we will then discuss at what point you would like me to attend your birth (usually around the time labour establishes) I endeavour to capture the active labour, birth and a couple of hours following the birth (ideally I would like to capture the baby’s first feed, and the initial interactions of any immediate family if they are around). However, time frames will vary greatly depending on the length of the labour, is very mum down to our communication leading up to your due date. I will also be in contact with you regarding any additional packages you may have added and your desired outcomes for these shoots.
Step 04
The Finale
After the labour, I will leave you in your perfect love bubble to edit the magic and get it back to you as soon as I can. I like to give you a sneak peak within the first 48hours and then a following 2-3 weeks I will have you entire archive ready, this is also depending on whether or not you have booked the additional new born shoot. I like to do the new born shoot within the first month (up to parents) as they are such eager little growers at the beginning.

Birth Story Session
- This package will include all the special moments surrounding your birth. I like to create a story of the day from the moment I arrive. The labour, the delivery and the precious moments following. All images included.
Starting at $1400 depending on travel
Maternity Session
- Embrace the beauty of pregnancy with a maternity session that captures the glow and anticipation of welcoming a new life earth side. Capturing a women in bloom is nothing short of perfection. All images included
Additional $350 depending on travel
Complete Package
Newborn Session
- Preserve the precious early moments of your newborn with a photography session that encapsulates the delicate and pure essence of infancy. All images included.
